Meant To Be

I know that not everyone we meet is supposed to stay in our lives, but I also know that no matter how little they stay or skin-deep the connection, they will always be a part of it. An important permenant constituent of how we are shaped in the long run.

And thus we must gracefully welcome them, and gracefully say our goodbyes when we do, especially our enemies and ex-friends; for they embolden us to dig and know our worth, speak up for what we stand for, and make sense of how far our boundaries can stretch.

I know I had allies when I needed help, and guides in my darkest days. I’m sure I met some angels too along the way, and have yearned for the stars ever since. But I had to let go, eventually, with the sentiment that I got all I was meant to get.

And maybe, just maybe, I was only meant to meet you to love poetry.
