Warlike living

It’s a constant struggle that is to be alive

A tug-of-war battle; yourself on each side

Ever-changing wrongs and new uprising rights

To be or be beaten, a jungle rule applies

Predefined goals, the tangibles prioritised

Love, friendship, even family redefined

Selfish happiness? the ultimate prize

Regardless of the who’s, what’s, and why’s

Stolen souls, broken hearts; like steps stepped to rise

Horrible means, for the end?.. justifies!

You’d learn when face-first slapped

You die when stapped from behind

Twice.

Surviving on all of this industrialised

melting world is merely a disguise

Because in a struggle deep inside

The real gut-wrenching war lies
